Dear Friend & Advocate of Better Governance,
This personal plea is coming to you, because your help is needed in a major opportunity to make a difference.
Simply put: I have agreed to be a candidate for election as the Delegate for District #52 of the West Virginia Legislature.
My decision to do this is not from any quest for personal aggrandizement.
Neither do I have any desire to become just another actor in the "Dog & Pony Show" of West Virginia government's ongoing poor performance.
I'm a candidate because of my rock solid belief in government financial discipline, my passion to protect our personal rights and liberties, and my conviction that common sense and the common consent of voters should be our government's gold standard of conduct.
The key to our individual prosperity on both the State and National levels is a reduction in senseless spending, improvident programs, and counterproductive taxes.
Read the "Larry D. Kump & the Issues" entry and other entries at this blog for more of this about that.
Meanwhile, to help get this message out and for all of us to stand up and be counted, the folks in the political know tell me that campaign donations need to be made by folks just like you, who also strongly believe in the same principles of better governance.
This is a difficult request for me to make, especially in these hard times, but I'm told that's what it will take to win this election.
Simply put (again): It's just going to take money to reach out to and educate voters on how I stand on the principles of better governance in this serpentine legislative district.
Will you help?
That's why your personal donation of $100 or more is so necessary to help all of us.
Your donation will help provide a firm foundation for the rest of this grass-roots campaign, and also demonstrate to other donors that this is a serious and sincere crusade on behalf of issues of importance to all of us.
So and yet again, can I count on your help?
Please send your personal check with your contribution of $100 or more (or anything you can afford) to:

P.S.: Regardless of your financial situation or contribution, please help our cause even further by sharing this letter with all of your family, friends, coworkers, and other associates (both inside and outside of West Virginia). Add your personal endorsement to this plea and ask them to also make a contribution of $100 or more, AND also ask them to further pass along this call to action to all of their own family, friends, coworkers, and associates.
(Please note that cash contributions, as well as contributions from corporations, will not be accepted. Also, if you are a West Virginia public employee, please disregard this as a request for a contribution.West Virginia law requires that all contributions over $250 must include your address, occupation, and where you work. No individual contributions of amounts over $1,000 may be accepted. Although no contribution is tax deductible, your contribution of $100 or more will go a long way toward promoting better citizen governance.)
