Unloading on the Proposed Gun Law

Larry,

I have to unload and hideout my concealed weapon every time I go to the same place for permits. Technically no firearms are allowed on any government facility. That may only apply for the second floor. Just FYI. I'm against any further restrictions on firearms. I would like all states to receive all CCW permits. However the "free state" (a.k.a. the "police state") is not one of them.

  1. As a wife, mother of 3 young children, and a CCW holder I am highly troubled by all the restrictions our county/state have on the 2nd amendment. When I have to go somewhere that restricts my right I am more fearful knowing that the lawless have the upper hand and should anything happen I would be powerless to protect myself or my children.

The constitution stated, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." It also stated that,"the right of the PEOPLE (not states, not federal) to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." What does infringe mean? to actively break an agreement, to limit, hold up, undermine or encroach on. That is what is happening when I have to get a permit (permission to carry = not a right) am told when, where, and how to carry. I am forced to be a possible victim.

Something else I found interesting is theNazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English)

    * Classified guns for "sporting purposes".
    * All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
    * Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law.
    * Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.
    * The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
    * Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.
"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the occupied Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country." --Adolf Hitler, dinner talk on April 11, 1942, quoted in Hitler's Table Talk 1941-44: His Private Conversations, Second Edition (1973), Pg. 425-426. Translated by Norman Cameron and R. H. Stevens. Introduced and with a new preface by H. R. Trevor-Roper. The original German papers were known as Bormann-Vermerke.

Thank you for listening to my concerns.

  2. Larry:

This is interesting commentary on the so called "Nuremburg Laws" The mover behind the 1968 Gun Control Act was the late Thomas Dodd (D-Connecticut). There are documents where he is requesting translations of those parts that deal with firearms from the Library of Congress. Some of which appear verbatim in the 1968 GCA. Why would we use NAZI jurisprudence??

It appears Joshua is facing misdemeanor charges after the felonies were dropped. All this hoopla about carrying a firearm. Perhaps Virginia Tech wouldn't have been so bad if students had returned fire. The campus security and the police certainly let the victims down. Of course, one must understand the police have no obligation to protect you. Yes, that is correct, at least two supreme court decisions ruled this way. The entire operation at Virginia Tech was a "Charlie Foxtrot" as we used to say when I was a soldier. It was as if they were told to lay down so that there would be a sufficiently catastrophic event.
