This website is devoutly dedicated to all of Larry's friends and associates, both early and late, who have influenced and mentored him. However, it also should be noted that, being who they are, a majority of them have been late most of the time.

Government Monkey Business

This astute behavioral analysis recently was shared with me by a friend:

Start with a large cage containing five monkeys.

Inside the cage, place a set of steps and hang a banana on a string above the top of the steps.

A monkey soon will start up the steps to grab the banana.

As soon as the monkey touches the steps, spray all the other monkeys with cold water.

When the other monkeys make the same attempt, spray each of them with cold water.

Afterwards, when a monkey tries to climb the steps, the other monkeys will attack him.

Now take away the cold water and remove one monkey from the cage, replacing him with a new one.

The new monkey sees the banana and starts to climb the steps, but all of the other monkeys attack him.

He quickly learns that, if he tries to climb the steps, he will be attacked.

Continue to remove each of the original five monkeys and replace them, one by one, with new monkeys.

Each new monkey is attacked when he goes toward the steps, and the previous newcomers enthusiastically take part in the group mugging.

None of the new monkeys have any idea why they are not permitted to climb the steps or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

No monkey ever again trys to go up the steps to get the banana.

Why not?

Because, and as far as they know, that is the way it has always been done.

And that, my friends and fellow citizens, is how our government operates.

I have known Larry for many years, and know that, if elected, he will be an honest voice for the people he represents in West Virginia...

One thing is for certain...he will always be truthful and will not paint a rosey picture unless it is an honest one.

Straight from the Heart

I have been asked by friends of Larry to enter some positive comments regarding Larry. I have resisted, not because of any doubts about Larry, but because I am not a West Virginian.

Also I am very cynical of politics and politicos. Honestly, in my opinion and be it red or blue, politics is crap and all crap stinks. So at the risk of offending a person that I consider a good friend, I must question his sanity for desiring to enter this foray.

With that being said, I have known Larry for 16 years and from those years of working with, and sometimes even working against Larry, I can say for certainty that Larry would be one of the very few people that would represent his constituents with absolute integrity.

I know that Larry believes in a minimal intrusion type of government and constantly seeks ways to use the remaining "necessary evil" that government is in a most efficient manner.

Quite simply and for what it is worth, if I could vote for Larry I would.

A Voice from Washington County, MD

I have had the privilege and honor of getting to know Larry D. Kump over the last couple of years, staying in touch with him via Email and other means.

Larry is a very honorable and honest man who believes that the people of his legislative district comes first.

A true patriot and voice of the people, Larry will always be there when called upon to do the people's work.

Larry has been very influential.

Larry is not just concerned about his own legislative district, but Larry is concerned about all that surrounds him.

Larry is very concerned about Family and Children first and foremost, and has been a very supportive voice for newly elected Senator in Maryland, Christopher Shank, and his plights to get laws passed to protect our Children from Child Predators and Domestic Violence.

Larry is the People's Voice, and he is in touch with today's society,
understanding and knowing the issues that need to be addressed. He does not waiver and he is not afraid to tackle the issues.

West Virginia is very lucky and honored to have such a respectable man running for House of Delegates, and he is a voice the People need.

He is what West Virginians need.

Larry knows what his constituents need and what they want. He will not leave them standing at the altar.

I implore all of those voters from Larry's district to get behind this truly honorable and honest man and support him.

You will not be disappointed.

Thank you,

Jeff Werner

Charlie's Choice

I now live in Knoxville, Tennessee, and regretfully cannot vote for Larry D. Kump, but I have emphatically & enthusiastically have endorsed Larry to my brother, who lives in West Virginia.

I also encourage others to vote for Larry D. Kump for election to the West Virginia House of Delegates.

My endorsement is based on Larry's commitment to conservative government, his integrity, moral turpitude, and deep sense of his Godly purpose in life.

Another Nod for Larry

Most everyone with a mind, and who still knows the difference between good and stupid, just sadly shake their heads regarding people in politics.

But when it comes to Larry in politics, I see a whole lot of good folks nodding their heads in support of Larry D. Kump.

Larry has my "Nod" for election to the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Reenforcement from Russ

I have known Larry D. Kump for close to 30 years and have never known him to be anything but upright, honest, full of integrity, loyal, moral, and compassionate.

Even in times of trial on a personal front, Larry never complained or felt sorry for himself. Instead, he went out of his way to make sure the needs and feelings of others were taken care of.

Spend an hour with him and you will walk away feeling like you have known him your entire life.

His dedication to his profession, his fellow co-workers and friends is just the qualities I look for in a leader. He will not bow down to outside pressure when he believes in something. He will fight to the finish to ensure fairness and equity for everyone is accomplished.

Keys of Good Governance

It is not uncommon in these political times to hear folks say, "Politics as usual". We've almost become accustomed to poor behavior from those we've voted into office.

Why do so many public servants forget the very fact that they are public servants? They were elected to represent their constituents and should act always with their best interests in mind.

If you are looking for a true public servant, and not the run of the mill politician, then I urge you to cast your vote for Larry D. Kump.

I have known Larry for more than 20 years and can attest to his moral integrity, honesty, and genuine love and concern for our state and country. He is a true patriot.

At a time when he could be enjoying retirement, he has chosen to serve the citizens of West Virginia.

Larry D. Kump will be an excellent Delegate in the WV legislature. If you are tired of "politics as usual", then Larry is your candidate.

A Letter from Lana

Dear Larry,
Personal testimonials are a true sign of what type of politician you will be.

Having worked with you for several years, I can add that you are honest, trustworthy and you refuse to sugar-coat anything. These attributes are a plus at this time when most politicians prove to be scoundrels whose only desire is to pad their own pockets and not respect the wishes of their constituents.

Very sad when you reflect back to earlier days when our politicians actually voted for the working family and helped keep taxes down so they could own a home and eat.

"Krow" Knows

Like many others, I consider Larry D. Kump a friend.

If you need anything brought to the right persons attention, call Larry.

Larry definitely knows how government works.

He was instrumental in getting me several political endorsements when I was referred to the Governor's office to be part of the Gang Violence Task Force.

Larry will be a great asset as a Delegate in the West Virginia Legislature.

Count on Kump

Dear Vicky,

Your letter to the editor this morning in today's edition (Friday, August 20th, 2010) of the Martinsburg Journal was a wonderful morning surprise for me.

"Kump is a candidate on whom you can count" brought back those memories of when you and I were testifying before the Maryland House of Delegates Appropriations Committee and you first urged me to be a candidate for election. That's when I laughed and said that my residence and heart belongs to West Virginia.

Your friendship and loyal advocacy on my behalf still means a great deal to me.

Larry

Another Voice from Indiana

Larry D. Kump and I have been friends for many, many years.

When he lived in Indiana (1978-1989), I was working for the State of Indiana.

I encountered a few problems, and he helped me with some wise advice.

His advice always was based on proper, sound principles.

He has been an outstanding friend through the years.

As long as I have known Larry, he has been a champion of the Constitution of the United States.

He is sorely missed by many in Indiana.

Listening, Working, and Getting the Job Done

Larry D. Kump has been both a friend and teacher for me.

He taught me how government works.

I had a personal problem with my retirement eligibility, and the only way to fix it was by having legislation written and introduced in both the Maryland House of Delegates and Senate.

We did that with Larry's assistance.

The legislation was passed, signed into law, and my retirement eligibility problem was fixed.

I consider Larry to be my true friend.

He will be a great asset as a Delegate in the West Virginia Legislature.

He listens!

He works!

He gets the job done!

Stamps of Approval

I appreciate the comments made by Dick & Jane in their www.LarryKump.us entry and ditto their endorsement encouraging all to get out and vote for Larry Kump.

I would like to add that as a seven year resident of the Panhandle, I first noted the name "Larry D. Kump" in letters to the editor in West Virginia's Martinsburg Journal, that I found on point and inspirational.

Then a few years ago, when I met Larry in person, I found an intelligent, insightful, and often humorous individual who does not hesitate to speak out about what is right, backing up what he says with facts.

And, then he goes beyond his words and follows up with his actions.

I am proud of him for being willing to accept this challenge and to be willing to serve the residents of the district and all of West Virginia.

Hoosier Homage

While I live in Indiana, I would like to be a West Virginian when Larry D. Kump rises to his full potential as a member of the Legislature.

He will use his common sense, wisdom, and integrity (which he polished in Indiana) to "shake 'em up!".

If you want to change the atmosphere of politics and provide good government, Larry D. Kump can do what many promise.

I worked closely with him while he was a fellow Hoosier, and have followed him on the Internet ever since he left a big hole in Indiana (in 1989)

If West Virginia voters do not realize what a gem they have with Larry D. Kump, he will be brought back to Indiana where his practicality and deep thinking will be appreciated.

We miss him and envy West Virginia's good fortune.
